Quantity Surveyor- Wastewater Infrastructure Framework
We are recruiting for a leading Tier-1 infrastructure main contractor delivering major capital frameworks across the UK water sector.
They are expanding their delivery team to manage a diverse portfolio of wastewater projects. Schemes range from small asset maintenance and upgrades to large-scale civil new-build developments. Their focus is on efficient, safe delivery that minimises carbon impact and ensures high client satisfaction.
Job Purpose
You will manage all commercial aspects of your assigned projects in accordance with the contract, company procedures, and client requirements to protect margins and cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly cost/value reconciliations (CVRs), cash flow forecasts, cost control reports, and budgets.
Contract Administration: Draft and issue timely, compliant contractual notices and formal correspondence.
Payment Management: Prepare main contract applications for payment and assess, certify, and issue supply chain payment certificates.
Subcontract Management: Prepare enquiries, negotiate terms, award contracts, manage variations/change control, and finalize final accounts.
Risk & Value Management: Identify project commercial risks, develop mitigation strategies, and look for value engineering opportunities.
Site Liaison: Work closely with site operations teams, subcontractors, and client commercial reps to maintain accurate records (allocation sheets, site diaries).
Requirements
Essential Experience
Commercial experience within civil engineering, utilities, or heavy infrastructure.
Strong skills in cost analysis, spreadsheet development, and variation/compensation event evaluation.
Good working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4).
Understanding of risk management and project program tracking.
Qualifications
Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
Actively working towards or enrolled in RICS or CICES professional chartership.
