A leading specialist construction and engineering business is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its General Works team in Filton, Bristol.
The company delivers complex, high-value construction, refurbishment, installation and engineering projects across some of the UK''s most demanding sectors.-
You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, working closely with project and site teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to maximise commercial performance and ensure successful delivery.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from procurement through to final account.
• Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts, including procurement, valuations, payments and variations.
• Preparing cost/value reconciliations, forecasts and commercial reports.
• Monitoring project costs, cash flow, turnover and margin.
• Managing change, variations, claims and commercial risks.
• Supporting procurement strategies and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Working closely with project managers and site teams to deliver commercial targets.
• Ensuring contractual and commercial documentation is accurately maintained.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs.
• Supporting the wider commercial team and contributing to continuous improvement.

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with:

• Demonstrable experience working on construction projects, ideally within a main contractor environment.
• Good understanding of procurement and subcontract management.
• Strong knowledge of cost/value reporting and forecasting.
• A sound understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider project team.
• Good commercial judgement and attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.
• RICS, CIOB or another relevant professional qualification/membership would be advantageous.
