We’re working with a leading contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor, offering a competitive package including car allowance, fuel card, and benefits scheme.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded QS to take full ownership of projects, managing and controlling all financial and technical aspects of contracts — driving value, minimising costs, and ensuring strong cashflow through to final account.

££ The role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role across a range of construction, refurbishment and/or retrofit projects, with full commercial responsibility from tender through to completion and cash collection.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Measurement, pricing and evaluation of tenders
- Taking ownership of projects from inception to final account
- Identifying opportunities to improve margins and value
- Managing costs and setting targets
- CVR reporting and accurate forecasting
- Administering and managing sub-contractor accounts
- Producing and submitting interim and final applications for payment
- Supporting Health and Safety compliance from a commercial perspective
- Developing and maintaining strong subcontract and supplier relationships

£ What we’re looking for
We’d love to hear from candidates who bring:
- A recognised professional qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent experience
- Previous experience within construction, refurbishment, retrofit or fabric upgrade projects desirable
- Familiarity with bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and design and build contracts
- Proven experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement
- Strong monthly reporting skills with a keen eye for detail
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently and take initiative
- Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence working with both direct and subcontract labour
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel
