About the Role

This permanent Quantity Surveyor position in Exeter offers a salary of £45,000 to £55,000 plus package and benefits. Working from the Devon office with regular site visits, the successful candidate manages two medium to large mixed-tenure housing schemes across the south west. Responsibilities include full commercial control of projects, timely reporting, elemental reconciliations and cash flow forecasting. Cost control procedures, cash management and subcontractor accounts also feature. Applicants need a background in housing or contracting, with varied experience advantageous. Seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor, to manage 2 medium - large scale schemes. Delivering mixed tenure housing across multiple sites throughout the south west, therefor a varied background in housing and contracting would be advantageous however sole experience in either will be strongly considered! Based in the Devon office you will visit sites regularly.
The Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial control of your own projects, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, dealing with all elemental reconciliations and cash flow forecasts. You will manage cost control procedures, contributing to effective cash management, completing all of sub-contractor administration and identifying and managing risk of developments.
You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in housing, knowledgeable within measurement, valuation and final accounts. Managing sub-contract orders and procurement with competency in COINS. Client-driven, with strong decision making and communication skills, candidates will be able to prioritise work against tight deadlines and sometimes conflicting priorities.
What’s needed:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor able to manage your own schemes
- A strong housing background, either developer side or contracting
- Volume experience would be desirable
- Excellent IT skills and ideally COINS is desirable but not essential.
- A team player who is also able to work well independently
- Strong Commercial awareness
- Detailed and thorough approach to work
- Analytically reporting skills
- Excellent communication
- Well organised and able to prioritise work
