Quantity Surveyor

Location: Derby
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
Package: Company car allowance, pernsion contribution, 25 holidays plus bank holidays, 2 week Christmas break, comapny phone, company laptop, flexitime offered.

We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 3 years' experience to join our Derby-based civil engineering client.

The business works across groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and external works projects, so you’ll be supporting a varied mix of schemes rather than being tied to one type of work. The projects our clients work on vary from £100k - £5m value. 

The role will be split between the office and project sites. Standard hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 3 years' Quantity Surveying experience
• Previous civil engineering experience
• Good working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
• A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification, such as a degree, HNC/HND or equivalent
• Experience with valuations, variations, cost reporting and subcontractor accounts
• Confident working across both office and site environments
• Full UK driving licence

What you’ll be doing

• Commercially supporting civil engineering projects from start through to final account
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment
• Managing variations and compensation events
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts and margins
• Managing subcontractor packages and accounts
• Working closely with site teams, project managers and clients
• Supporting projects across groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and external works

You’ll be based from the Derby office with regular travel to sites as required. A car allowance is provided for site travel.
