Quantity Surveyor
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an established and growing-Main Contractor, who are looking to appoint an experienced-Quantity Surveyor-to join their commercial team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of-3 years'' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor-and will have a strong commercial understanding of construction projects.
The contractor works across a varied portfolio of projects, including-Traditional Contracting, Design & Build and Cladding Remediation Works.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to completion and final account.
Key responsibilities:
- Commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Managing project budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cash flow.
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
- Preparing and negotiating subcontract orders.
- Managing subcontractor valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Preparing client valuations and applications for payment.
- Managing variations and additional works.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, design teams and site teams.
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years'' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor.
- Experience across-Traditional and Design & Build-projects.
- Experience within-cladding remediation, fa-ade, refurbishment or building envelope-would be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
- Experience managing subcontractor packages.
- Strong knowledge of valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification is desirable.
