Construction Quantity Surveyor
18-month contract
24 hours per week
-60 per hour - Inside IR35
Port Glasgow - Hybrid

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cost plans
* Monitor project costs, risks and financial exposure
* Prepare financial reports, forecasts and cost reports
* Manage procurement and tendering activities
* Prepare tender documentation, BoQs and pricing schedules
* Evaluate subcontractor and supplier tenders
* Administer NEC construction contracts
* Manage variations, change orders and contractual claims
* Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
* Assess subcontractor applications and payment certificates
* Identify commercial risks and support value engineering
* Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and consultants
* Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
* Strong knowledge of UK construction practices
* NEC contract experience
* Strong commercial and financial awareness
* Experience with cost management, procurement and contract administration
* Experience managing variations, claims and final accounts
* Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related subject

DESIRABLE:

* RICS, CIOB or similar professional membership
* Experience working on large-scale construction or transformation projects
* Strong NEC contract administration experience
* Experience within complex engineering, manufacturing or infrastructure environments
