Quantity Surveyor

A well-established Groundworks & Civil Engineering contractor is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of residential infrastructure and groundworks projects across Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.

With a strong order book and continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business delivering roads, sewers, earthworks and groundworks packages for major housing developments.

Working alongside an experienced Commercial Manager and operational team, you''ll be given responsibility for your own projects while receiving the support needed to further develop your career.

This is a hybrid role, splitting your time between the company''s Yorkshire office and visits to live sites, allowing you to work closely with operational teams and gain a full understanding of project performance on the ground.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in the commercial management of projects from award through to final account, ensuring costs are controlled and projects remain commercially successful.

You''ll enjoy a varied position, spending time both in the office managing commercial processes and out on site working alongside Contracts Managers, Site Managers and Engineers to monitor progress, value works and build strong working relationships with project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting applications for payment.
• Producing and assisting with monthly CVRs.
• Managing subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Pricing and agreeing variations.
• Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks.
• Assisting with procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Supporting final account negotiations.
• Attending site and commercial meetings.
• Carrying out regular site visits to assess project progress and value completed works.
• Maintaining accurate records and project documentation.
• Working closely with Contracts Managers and Site Managers to support successful project delivery.

The Person

We are interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have experience within construction and are looking to develop their career within a busy and supportive environment.

Ideally You Will Have:

• Groundworks or Civil Engineering experience
• Residential infrastructure or housing development projects
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage workloads across multiple projects.
• Comfortable working both in an office environment and on live construction sites.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Knowledge of roads, drainage, sewers or earthworks packages.
• Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND or Degree).
