About the role of Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining a privately owned Regional Main Contractor based in Hertfordshire who operate across London, South East, East Anglia and South Midlands. They were founded over 40 years ago and have continued to grow through the determined pursuit of excellence and continuous client relationships to become a leading provider in the property refurbishment and new build markets.
You will be based in their Hertfordshire office and sites in surrounding areas. They cover lots of public sector work such as schools and hospitals and additionally commercial, residential, tech, heritage, and leisure.
Key Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor
Include but not limited to:
- Attend estimating handover meeting to gain an understanding of tender to live jobs process
- Attend site regularly to familiarise and gain understanding of the project
- Assess variation claims received engaging with the site team
- Prepare and issue CVR''s
- Final account process including the issue, negotiation and agreement with the Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Identify and collate appropriate tender documents and send out trade enquiries to subcontractors for pricing
Key Requirements of Quantity Surveyor:
- Degree in a construction related subject
- Minimum of 4 years'' surveying experience at a main contractor
- Ideally experience on a variety of project sectors
- Live within commutable distance to St Albans
