Contractor that specialises in civil engineering works for the rail sector requires a Quantity Surveyor, with the opportunity for hybrid working available, based in either Kent or Essex. Long-term contract opportunity with the potential to be outside IR35. Duties: Prepare accurate cost estimates, cost plans and budgets for civil asset management schemes Price remits from a schedule of rates Provide support to the tendering process, including bills of quantities and contract documentation Montor costs against project budget, identifying potential savings and areas where budget might be exceeded Ensure compliance with company policies, client standards / requirements and all relevant legislation Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers etc, giving commercial support across all stages of the projects Manage subcontractor packages, to include procurement and settling of final accounts Value variations and change control Create and present commercial cost reports for both internal teams and the client Requirements: Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, working on civil engineering projects, ideally within the rail industry. However, a QS with civils experience in the utilities or construction sectors will also be considered.
