Quantity Surveyor
Up to £65,000, Depending on experience + Benefits | Full-Time | Office-Based (Grantham)
Location: Office-based near Newark & Grantham – easily commutable from Nottingham, Lincoln, and Peterborough
Benefits: Up to £50,000, 25 days holiday, pension, free on-site parking
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in the rail sector?
Would you like to take ownership of cost control, billing, and commercial operations for a busy regional division – all from a dedicated office base?
We’re working with an established infrastructure and civil engineering company that delivers major off-track rail projects across the UK. They’re looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their Grantham-based commercial team, providing accurate cost management, contract oversight, and commercial reporting to support successful project delivery.

- Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and tender documents
- Manage client billing in line with contractual terms
- Handle COWD (Cost of Work Delivered) and prepare payment applications
- Apply strong knowledge of building contracts and rail frameworks
- Conduct spend forecasting for budget control and financial planning
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and performance
- Assist with procurement and subcontractor management
- Support project teams with commercial insight and risk management
- Liaise with clients to resolve queries and agree final accounts
- Maintain accurate commercial and financial records
- Produce commercial reports and KPI dashboards for senior management
- Proven Quantity Surveyor experience within the rail sector
- Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, cost control, and procurement
- Familiarity with MTSQS Portal and National Schedule of Rates (NSR) (desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, negotiation, and communication skills
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying or construction management
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
