Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Contract Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of a highways project in North Somerset. This is a contract role with a Tier 2 contractor, offering an excellent opportunity for a skilled QS to take ownership of cost control, subcontractor management, and client reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial and financial management of the highways scheme.
• Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Draft and manage subcontractor packages, payments, and claims.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and the project team to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
• Provide accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements and company procedures.

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor on highways or major civils projects.
• Ability to be based on site daily. 
• Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
• Demonstrable track record managing costs, variations, and subcontractors.
• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider project team.
