About the Opportunity
Red Sky Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering key infrastructure schemes across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work on a major highways project, supporting the commercial team in delivering strong financial performance.

Key Requirement:
Previous experience working on fully built highways/roads projects in the UK is essential.

Role Overview

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of a highways project. This includes assisting with cost control, subcontract administration, and reporting while developing your experience within a structured commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost reports

• Support monthly valuations and applications for payment

• Monitor project costs and assist with forecasting

• Administer subcontract packages, including payments and variations

• Support procurement processes and tender analysis

• Assist with NEC contract administration and compensation events

• Maintain accurate records of commercial activity

• Liaise with site teams and subcontractors to gather cost data

• Support preparation of reports for senior management

• Attend project and commercial meetings as required

• Ensure compliance with company systems and procedures

Requirements

Essential:

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related discipline

• Experience working as a QS within civil engineering

• Exposure to fully built highways/roads projects

• Understanding of NEC contracts

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable:

• Working towards professional accreditation (MRICS / MCICES)
