Contractor that specialises in civil engineering works for the rail sector requires a-Quantity Surveyor, with the opportunity for hybrid working available, based in either Kent or Essex.-
Duties:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, cost plans and budgets for civil asset management schemes
- Price remits from a schedule of rates
- Provide support to the tendering process, including bills of quantities and contract documentation
- Montor costs against project budget, identifying potential savings and areas where budget might be exceeded
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client standards / requirements and all relevant legislation-
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders,-Project Managers,-Project Engineers, Design Engineers etc, giving commercial support across all stages of the projects
- Manage subcontractor packages, to include procurement and settling of final accounts
- Value variations and change control
- Create and present commercial cost reports for both internal teams and the client
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, working on civil engineering projects, ideally within the rail industry. However, a QS with civils experience in the utilities or construction sectors will also be considered.
- Experience pricing civils works at a value of up to -250k
- Strong understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract
- Excellent communication, commercial and analytical skills
