About the Role

T.E.D. (Recruitment) Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join its client’s expanding Glasgow office. This permanent role offers a salary between £40,000 and £50,000, plus pension and bonus. The position suits a Project Surveyor or a capable Assistant Quantity Surveyor with over two years’ post-graduate experience at a PQS firm. Responsibilities include cost management across residential, leisure, industrial, and educational schemes, some valued up to £120m. The office’s recent establishment provides clear promotion prospects. Full APC support toward RICS qualification is offered, alongside a varied project workload. Candidates should possess strong technical skills and a proactive approach to professional development.

THE ROLE

My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join them in Glasgow. This office is fairly new so there will be plenty of prospects for promotion for an ambitious QS.

They are seeking someone either at Project Surveyor level or a good Assistant Quantity Surveyor with 2 years + post graduate experience with a firm of PQS.

My client works on a good range of projects for residential, leisure facilities, industrial warehousing, schools and more.

They offer excellent support towards taking the APC to become RICS qualified along with good prospects for promotion.

THE COMPANY

My client is an established firm of PQS with two offices currently.

They work on a good range of projects up to around £120m in value.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS.

My client would like someone who has around two years or more post graduate experience doing pre and post contract work.

You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or similar and have around 2 plus years experience working for a PQS firm either post graduation or during your Degree if you were doing your BSc on day release.

You may be working towards taking your APC towards becoming RICS qualified or keen to do so.

You should have used JCT contracts and any knowledge of NEC contracts would be useful.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.

Salary is very negotiable plus benefits including pension, APC support, RICS fees, discretionary bonus, hybrid working one day per week, 26 days holiday plus public holidays, access to buy VIP tickets for the Hydro, free parking permit
