The company has developed a strong reputation for quality, attention to detail and client relationships, with a significant proportion of its workforce having been with the business for 10 years or more.

The Role

Due to continued growth and a strong forward order book, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

You will be responsible for the commercial management of a range of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects, typically ranging from several hundred thousand pounds to -4m+.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants genuine responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Prepare and review project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
• Manage procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and issue subcontract enquiries and negotiate quotations.
• Review subcontractor applications, valuations and payment notices.
• Manage variations, change control and contractual notices.
• Monitor project costs, margins and commercial performance.
• Prepare monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting and cost-to-complete.
• Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to maintain commercial control.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support the pre-construction team with estimating, tenders and pricing when required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or commercial fit-out.
• Experience managing projects from -500k to -4m+.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and commercial management.
• Experience with valuations, variations, CVRs, forecasting and final accounts.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A proactive and collaborative approach.

Experience within retail, hospitality, leisure, hotel, office fit-out or refurbishment would be particularly advantageous.
