Quantity Surveyor - Civil EngineeringLocation: Babraham, CambridgeEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentSector: Civil Engineering / GroundworksFawkes and Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established civil engineering contractor based on a project in Babraham, Cambridge.The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial and financial management of civil engineering projects, working closely with the operational team to ensure costs are effectively controlled and projects are delivered within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesManage project costs from initial estimates through to final accountsPrepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs)Cost planning, forecasting and reportingMonitor project expenditure and identify commercial risksManage valuations, variations and subcontractor accountsWork closely with project and site teams to ensure commercial targets are achievedProduce accurate cost reports and commercial updatesAssist with procurement and subcontractor negotiationsRequirementsPrevious experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructureStrong knowledge of cost control, cost planning and commercial managementExperience preparing BOQs and cost reportsStrong numerical and analytical skillsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a wider project teamRelevant Quantity Surveying or Construction Management qualification ..... full job details .....
