Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a long-established and highly respected main contractor with over 150 years of experience delivering high-quality construction projects across Oxfordshire and the South East. Their expertise spans commercial, education, heritage, high-end residential, healthcare, refurbishment, conservation, and specialist projects.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance across multiple schemes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing project costs from inception to completion
- Preparing and reviewing subcontractor packages and procurement schedules
- Producing valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts
- Managing subcontractor payments and commercial negotiations
- Supporting the delivery teams to ensure projects remain on budget and programme
- Monitoring project risks and identifying value engineering opportunities
- Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Assisting with tender reviews and pre-construction support
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting
- Supporting the Commercial Manager on larger or more complex schemes
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Experience with main contractors is essential
- Exposure to refurbishment, heritage, commercial, education, or high-end residential projects would be advantageous
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred
