Quantity Surveyor

We are currently working with an established, family-run main contractor based in Oxfordshire who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their rapidly growing team.

Specialising in high-end residential new builds, extensions, and refurbishments, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering bespoke projects to an exceptional standard across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.

Working closely with the Directors, Project Managers, Site Teams, and Clients, you will be involved in all aspects of cost management across a portfolio of luxury residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from inception through to completion
• Preparing and reviewing budgets, cost plans, and valuations
• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Preparing subcontract packages and negotiating terms
• Managing subcontractor accounts, variations, and payments
• Preparing and submitting applications for payment
• Monitoring project expenditure and forecasting costs
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
• Producing accurate financial reports and final accounts
• Liaising closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams
• Supporting the use of modern systems and AI-supported processes to improve efficiency and commercial reporting

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Experience delivering high-end residential projects is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of new build, extension, and refurbishment works
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and commercial management software
• Positive attitude towards innovation and technology within construction
• Willingness to embrace the use of AI and modern systems within the role
