Quantity Surveyor
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor delivering projects across Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with a strong background in civils and groundworks to take ownership of multiple projects from tender through to final account. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, maximising profitability, and ensuring commercial success while working closely with operational teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial aspects of civil engineering and groundworks projects. Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements. Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and CVRs. Measure and value works completed on site. Prepare and submit applications for payment. Assess and manage subcontractor payments and variations. Identify, value, and agree compensation events and claims. Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Support procurement activities and supplier negotiations. Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors. Maintain strong relationships with project teams and clients. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures.
