Quantity Surveyor

A leading construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, supporting the delivery of a major building project in Bridlington.

The role offers a hybrid working model, with a minimum of 3 days per week on site, working closely with the wider project and commercial teams.

You dont need to come from a housebuilding background. Experience with a main contractor across any building sector will be considered, provided you have strong commercial project experience.

The Role

Take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account
Procure and manage subcontractors in line with programme and project requirements
Manage subcontract accounts, applications, payments and valuations
Prepare and submit external valuations and maintain accurate forecasts
Monitor project costs, liabilities and commercial performance
Carry out measurement from drawings and on site where required
Manage variations, change and commercial risk
Support the identification and management of delays
Produce CVRs, valuations and other commercial reports
Maintain accurate project records and documentation
Work closely with clients, consultants, project teams and the supply chain
Negotiate and agree commercial changes and variations

About You

Minimum 3 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector
Main contractor experience within a building environment
Experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects
Strong subcontract procurement and contract administration experience
Good knowledge of valuations, forecasting, cost control and variations
Working knowledge of JCT, NEC or equivalent contracts
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisation
HND, degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / Built Environment desirable
Valid CSCS card desirable
Valid UK driving licence
