Quality Technician

Are you an experienced Quality Technician with a background in manufacturing or engineering?

Do you have strong attention to detail and experience with inspection, measurement and quality control?

If so, TXM Recruit are sourcing a Quality Technician for an established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Normanton, West Yorkshire. This is a full-time, permanent position paying up to -32,000 per annum (dependant on experience), working site-based Monday to Friday.

Working as part of the QSHE team and reporting to the Quality Manager, you will support inspection, testing and quality assurance activities across manufacturing operations. You will work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure products meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on quality or inspection experience who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out incoming, in-process and final product inspections.
• Check products against engineering drawings, specifications and inspection plans.
• Complete product testing, measurements, first-off inspections and FAI activities.
• Identify and manage non-conforming products, including raising NCRs.
• Complete re-inspections following rework or repairs.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
• Support root cause investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Monitor quality trends and recurring defects, escalating issues where required.
• Assist with calibration and ensure inspection equipment remains fit for purpose.
• Support audits and work with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company procedures and quality standards.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a quality, inspection, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience using measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and ability to work effectively across teams.
• Experience maintaining accurate quality records and documentation.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, FAI, NCRs and corrective actions would be advantageous.
• Experience in manufacturing, electronics, rail, aerospace or another regulated industry desirable.
• Familiarity with ERP/quality systems and internal auditing would be beneficial.
