Customer Quality Technician
About the role
Responsible for quality functions centred around product quality for a bespoke manufacturer, including but not limited to overseeing and creating documentation packs. Roles & responsibilities are in line with the quality management system and policies ensuring product and services meet/exceed customer expectations. Responsible for defect prevention, process deviation and ensuring supplier supplied parts are to standard.
This role involves liaising with both customer and supplier ensuring lines of communication are open and handled for any non-conformities. This role will include identifying deviation from design to day-to-day department activities to improve internal process and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing documentation and creating document packs for customer requirements
- Process documents from goods in, shop floor, email chain and any other source
- Inspection of goods to ensure they meet customer requirements and provision of certificate of conformity.
- Process and following through customer non-conformities and adhering to internal and customer corrective and preventative action
- Creation of internal documentation in line with process and procedures
Other Responsibilities
- Contribute to create and implement of best practice in processes and procedures to improve performance
- Support NPI activities to ensure internal and external suppliers can meet the required quality standards.
- Conduct internal and external quality audits and shop floor 5s.
- Handling annual customer and supplier questionnaires
Person Specification
- Experience in quality, engineering related role.
- Familiarity with 8D, 5 why and Ishikawa.
- Good technical understanding in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing and engineering techniques; 5S, Problem Solving Methodology, Work Standards.
- Can demonstrate relationship building experience internally and externally.
- Be able to drive own car or company pool car to visit customer/supplier.

- Ensure that positive, influential, flexible and constructive working relationships are built and maintained within the UK site, departments, suppliers and customers.
Minimum Qualification(s) / Experience Requirements for the role
- Relevant degree to manufacturing/engineering is preferred but will consider HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent experience
- Experience in relatable role
- Competency with Microsoft package specifically with excel.
