Quality Manager
Trident Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join a leading precision engineering manufacturer based in Bridgwater.
Supplying high-precision components into the Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas and Motorsport sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to lead the company''s Quality function and play a key role in driving compliance, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
The Role
As Quality Manager, you will take ownership of the company''s Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, while leading all Quality Assurance, Quality Control and audit activities across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Lead internal, customer and third-party audits
- Manage corrective actions, root cause investigations and non-conformances
- Oversee inspection, calibration and quality control processes
- Develop quality objectives, KPIs and management review reports
- Ensure compliance with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements
- Manage supplier quality, supplier approvals and supplier audits
- Act as the primary quality contact for customers and support customer audits
- Analyse quality performance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote Lean Manufacturing and quality best practice throughout the business
- Lead, mentor and develop the Quality team
- Work closely with Engineering, Production and Procurement to improve manufacturing processes
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Quality Manager within a precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environment
- Background in Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or another highly regulated industry
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 Rev D, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Experience managing Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
- Proven experience leading internal, customer and third-party audits
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance, Quality Control and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience using quality tools including 8D, CAPA, FMEA, SPC and FAIRs
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
