Overview
Quality Manager role at TE Connectivity. Lead and manage a team of around 8 Quality Engineers alongside supporting an inspection team at the Hastings site, ensuring regulatory quality standards are met and driving quality improvements across production areas (machining, moulding, plating and assembly). This role works with the global TE function and provides an opportunity to make a difference at a growing site.Responsibilities
Plant Quality Management for an Aerospace, Defence and Marine Connectors site, responsible for:Support and enhance the quality management system to meet and maintain AS9100 requirementsEnsure quality processes are in place and effective to meet customer needs and regulatory requirementsApply lean and process management to improve the quality systemCustomer communicationsAct as key point of contact for critical customer quality escalations, support customer visits, and visit customers directly as neededAudit and review 8D customer complaint resolutions completed by the quality team (and supported by other functions)Manage high level customer complaints or issues (including NOEs/NOSPs) and report feedback to senior leadership as requiredContinuous improvement and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) focusWork with the quality team and supporting functions to drive continuous improvement and CoPQ reduction across all manufacturing processesSupplier ManagementCollaborate with central Supplier Quality and Strategic Sourcing to provide prompt feedback on supplier-driven quality concernsSupport supplier audits as neededQuality Control and InspectionLead in-line inspection teams controlling quality of components through Incoming Goods and First Article InspectionsDrive reduction and quick resolution of blocked stock (MRB) and address root causesLeadershipProvide leadership and guidance on compliance and industry best practices across site Quality teamsWhat Your Background Should Look Like
Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Assurance and controlMinimum 2 years experience in a management roleDemonstrated experience driving change using LEAN concepts; ensure a strong quality organization to support the business and deliver global/local objectivesWorking knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma; SSGB or SSBB preferredProven experience driving change across multiple functionsProven leadership and management skills with ability to optimise team performance and developmentExcellent relationship management, stakeholder and supplier engagementExcellent communication, negotiation and influencing skillsResults-oriented with ability to plan and deliver against deadlinesCommercially and financially astuteAbout TE Connectivity
