• Seeking an experienced Quality professional within the electronics / SMT industry to help drive quality processes within an established, growing manufacturer. 
• Could be a Quality Inspector who is looking to develop into a Quality Manager. 
• Responsible for the management of quality processes as opposed to managing a team. This role still has hands on related tasks and has a good support network across the wider team. 
• Fantastic manufacturing business with excellent company culture, with strong growth expected and excellent tenure amongst the team.

Excellent opportunity to become a PCB Quality Manager within a growing PCB manufacturer who have a fantastic company culture - the vast majority of the team have been there for over 10 years. As they continue to grow, the company have now created a new position for a Quality Manager to help drive processes within the business. This a fantastic chance for someone who is looking to progress for an Inspector / Specialist into management. Likewise we can look at proven Quality Manager's who are still happy to retain some hands on duties, specifically SMT rework. 

Salary & Package: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum. 25 days holiday + banks. Healthcare.

The SMT Quality Manager Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IPC Class 3 with focus on implementing AS9100 and becoming JOSCAR registered in years to come.
• Drive a culture of quality awareness across the organisation; provide training and coaching to staff on quality standards and best practices.
• Ensure documentation (control plans, quality procedures, inspection records) is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis) to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
• Collect, analyse, and report quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, scrap levels, audit results); present findings to senior leadership.
• Implement regular audits, identify process improvements, and facilitate corrective/preventive actions to reduce defects and non-conformities.
• Hands on inspection and PCBA rework when needed.
• Oversee inspection checkpoints (e.g., visual, continuity, functional testing) and guarantee consistency in quality standards.
• Lead and coordinate quality assurance across the assembly production lifecycle, from the SMT line, through 3D AOI to conventional inspection to final test and inspection.

The Quality Manager - SMT Requirements:

• Proven experience in a quality management or assurance role within the electronics manufacturing or PCB industry.
• Hands-on experience with inspection techniques, test methods, and quality control procedures in PCBA production.
• Proficiency with quality tools like root cause analysis, corrective-preventive action implementation, FMEA, or SPC.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant quality standards.
