Job Purpose
To ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and understanding of ICB Distillers Quality Management System (QMS) and HACCP protocols across the company.- Ensuring systems and procedures meet the highest quality standards, legal requirements, and customer expectations. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will collaborate with various departments, ensuring food safety and quality at every stage.
Responsibilities:
Quality-and-Compliance-Management:
- Implement-and-manage-quality-systems-to-uphold-all-QMS-and-third-party-certifications,-including-BRC-standards.
- Ensure-ongoing-HACCP-compliance-and-proper-risk-control,-participating-in-the-HACCP team-and-monitoring-critical-control-points.
- Oversee-document-control-to-ensure-all-procedures-and-policies-are-current.
- Follow up with implemented programs (GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, Organic Certification, etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.
- Close-out-non-conformances-by-ensuring-corrective-actions-are-tracked-and-completed
- Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
Product-Quality-Assurance:
- Ensure-all-products-meet-QAS-and-customer-specifications-through-robust-monitoring-and compliance.
- Audit quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards
- Coordinate-audits,-calibrations,-inspections,-and-samples-to-maintain-food-safety standards.
Production-Support:
- Collaborate-with-Production-to-ensure-quality-and-safety-practices-are-integrated-and followed.
- Receive-complaints-from-the-Technical-Manager-regarding-production-related-issues-and-conduct-necessary-investigations.
- Support-New-Product-Development-(NPD)-by-attending-initial-production-runs-to-ensure standards-are-met.
Systems-&-Process-Improvement:
- Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards.
- Oversee-the-on-hold/fail-system-for-timely-disposition-and-reporting-of-held-stock.
- Actively-contribute to-process-improvements.
Team-Leadership:
- Lead and develop the QA and QC team, fostering a performance driven culture and identifying training needs.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Educated to degree level within a food science or food technology discipline
- 3+ years in a senior quality assurance role in food or drinks manufacturing
- Excellent working knowledge of food hygiene and food safety requirements as well as BRC and UK Grocer audit requirements.
- Excellent people management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Good attention to detail
