Quality Manager

We are recruiting for our Client in Barnsley for a Quality Manager. The company currently supports demanding industries such as mining, steel, cement, and power generation. We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Quality Manager to drive the Company''s quality assurance and control processes. This is a key position where you''ll play a crucial role in upholding product integrity, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities of a Quality Manager

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO 9001 standards.

• Oversee day-to-day quality control across manufacturing and production lines.

• Plan and conduct internal audits; support external audits and certification processes.

• Investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

• Collaborate with engineering, production, and commercial teams to resolve quality challenges.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation, procedures, and compliance records.

• Support and train team members on quality standards and best practices.

• Act as a point of contact for customer and supplier quality-related issues.

Person Specification of a Quality Manager

• Experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and practical experience maintaining a QMS.

• Analytical mindset with good problem-solving and process improvement skills.

• Effective communication and leadership capabilities.

• Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, and ideally Six Sigma.

• A relevant qualification in engineering, manufacturing, or quality management.
