Quality Lead - Precast

JOB PURPOSE:
To establish, manage, and continuously improve quality assurance systems within the precast concrete manufacturing operation. The Quality Lead will ensure all products comply with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of quality excellence throughout the business.

Responsible for facility quality management systems and its installation.

Oversees product inspection, testing, and compliance activities.

Supports customer, supplier, and regulatory audits.

JOB DUTIES:
Quality Assurance

• Develop and maintain quality systems and procedures.
• Ensure product compliance with specifications and standards.
• Monitor production quality and identify improvement opportunities.
• To ensure that mix designs meet the required standard.
• Monitor and report the concrete curing timelines and temperatures.

Inspection & Testing

Manage inspection and testing activities.

Complete pre-cast mould checks.

Approve all moulds for casting relating to the QA pre-mould inspection criteria.

Verify compliance of finished products.

Review and approve quality documentation.

Approve all product based on sample testing percentage.

Generate daily reports relating to quality and ensure they are distributed to the correct people.

Continuous Improvement

Analyse quality trends and performance data.

Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.

Promote continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance

Manage audit programmes and customer requirements.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.

Manage the NCR database and generate all KPI reports for operational meetings.

Attend planned operational meetings and support KPI actions.

Support root cause analysis and preventative actions for all NCRs and customer complaints.

Ensure a timely close out of all NCRs and customer complaints.

Training

Provide quality-related training and guidance.

Develop quality awareness throughout the organisation.

Support the operational staff and raise awareness of our QA standards and that of our customers.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Essential

Experience within quality assurance roles in manufacturing.

Knowledge of quality management systems.

Experience conducting audits and investigations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

Experience in precast concrete manufacturing.

Knowledge of pre-stressed concrete products.

Have experience in concrete mix designs and have the confidence to make mix design changes.

Lead Auditor qualification.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 systems.
