Yolk Recruitment are supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Port Talbot with the recruitment of an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team on a permanent basis. The role operates on a 12-hour continental shift pattern covering both days and nights and would suit a technically minded Quality Inspector or Quality Technician with manufacturing experience.

You will play an important role on the production floor, identifying quality issues, supporting corrective actions and ensuring products meet the required specifications. The role offers a structured induction and training period, including hands-on training.

The Role

Working as part of the Quality team, you will act as the eyes and ears of quality across the production lines. Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out dimensional and visual inspections of products throughout the manufacturing process
• Using inspection and measurement equipment including verniers, micrometers, DTI gauges and other handheld gauges
• Carrying out checks against customer specifications, drawings and internal quality standards
• Operating and setting production line camera vision inspection systems, identifying defects and adjusting parameters where required
• Using digital measurement and inspection equipment to check product dimensions and quality
• Identifying non-conforming product and ensuring it is correctly quarantined
• Investigating quality issues and helping establish the point of origin of defects
• Working closely with production and quality teams to resolve issues and prevent repeat defects
• Checking online gauging equipment and ensuring equipment is within the required calibration standards
• Maintaining accurate quality records, inspection results and documentation
• Supporting the introduction of new products and ensuring specifications and finish meet the required standards
• Assisting with reducing production waste and preventing defective products from reaching finished stock
• Supporting internal audits and maintaining compliance with relevant quality standards
• Communicating quality concerns clearly to production and supervisory teams

What We''re Looking For

• Previous experience in Quality Inspection, Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment
• Strong technical ability with experience using measurement and inspection equipment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify quality issues accurately
• Confident communicating with production teams and challenging quality issues when required
• A logical approach to investigating problems and following corrective actions
