Quality Inspector (Weekends)

Fortress Recruit are working with a leading engineering and marine manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Control Inspector (weekend shift) for their machine shop operation in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing environment supporting high-quality components for the marine and defence sectors, including products supplied to Navies across the globe. The successful candidate will play a key role across a busy machine shop, inspecting seals, bearings and machined components throughout the production process to ensure products meet drawing, specification and customer requirements. Key responsibilities: Carry out in-process and final inspection of machined components Inspect components using calipers, micrometers, thread gauges and other dimensional inspection tools Read and interpret engineering drawings, concessions, specifications and purchase orders Raise non-conformances and support root cause investigations Complete visual, dimensional and mechanical inspections Work closely with QA, manufacturing, engineering and operations teams Support traceability records, quality packs and class visit requirements Release inspected parts to stores, assembly and packaging Support OTIF targets by ensuring proactive communication across operations teams Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health and safety Contribute towards continuous improvement activities Use SAP and MRP systems to complete transactions and maintain ..... full job details .....
