Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their manufacturing team in Walsall.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment and will be responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality standards and specifications throughout the manufacturing process.

This is a hands on role suited to an experienced Quality Inspector who is confident using a range of inspection and measuring equipment and can work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards and specifications.
• Carry out detailed dimensional inspections using verniers/calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Perform visual and functional inspections to identify defects, non-conformances, and quality concerns.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Complete accurate inspection reports, quality records, and relevant documentation.
• Raise and record Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and support investigations into quality issues.
• Maintain accurate traceability and inspection records.
• Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure standards are consistently maintained.
• Work closely with production and other departments to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with root-cause investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all inspection equipment is used correctly and maintained to the required standards.
• Follow company procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
• Confident using a range of measuring equipment, including calipers/verniers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM machinery.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of manufacturing quality standards and inspection processes.
• Experience identifying, recording, and reporting non-conformances.
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical and accurate approach.
• Ability to maintain clear and accurate quality documentation and inspection records.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative when identifying quality issues.
• A proactive approach to maintaining and improving quality standards.
