Quality Inspection Operative

Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector to work for a well-established machining company in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.Role: Mechanical Engineering Quality InspectorSalary: Dependant on skill and experienceLocation: Abingdon, OxfordshireHours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 8.00am-4.30pm, Friday 8.00am-1.00pm. Overtime often available.Duration: Permanent Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector:Inspect, confirm and authorise incoming materials and returns from outsourced suppliers.Approve in-process production and validate first-off measurements.Maintain and calibrate metrology gauges and equipment in line with ISO 9001 requirements.Document all inspection results on the company''s internal systems.Raise and investigate NCRs, implementing corrective and preventative measures.Present KPI statistics for monthly review.Liaise with customers and suppliers, including conducting audits where required.Maintain ISO 9001 accreditation as it relates to production.Support the production team in striving for 100% quality.Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the quality system.About you:Ideally, you will have a mechanical engineering background gained within a manufacturing environment.Able to interpret engineering drawings and support production improvement initiatives.Experience using a wide range of measurement equipment and programmable CMM.Able to demonstrate and pass on ..... full job details .....
