Quality Engineer

I''m currently supporting a well-established manufacturing organisation in the search for a Quality Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment where continuous improvement and high standards are at the core of operations.

The Role as Quality Engineer


You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing quality and compliance across the business, supporting both operational performance and strategic improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities as Quality Engineer

  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and improve quality management systems in line with AS9100 and related standards
  • Act as a central contact for quality-related matters across internal teams, customers, and suppliers
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits to maintain accreditations
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective action activities (RCCA/NCR)
  • Review and interpret First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
  • Drive improvements in quality systems, processes, and controls
  • Contribute to waste and variation reduction initiatives using continuous improvement tools
  • Support customer requirements, including investigations and quality-focused discussions
  • Assist with strategic projects aligned to quality and operational performance

Your experience and skills as a Quality Engineer

  • Experience within a quality-focused role in a manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace
  • Strong understanding of industry standards such as AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP
  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection techniques
  • Experience conducting or supporting audits
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Confident problem-solver with experience in root cause analysis
  • Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or holding a recognised quality qualification
  • Lead Auditor training (AS9100/ISO9001) would be advantageous
