The client is a renowned and leading manufacturer of small pressings, stampings and wire forms for numerous industry sectors including aerospace, defence and medical.
They are seeking to recruit a Quality Engineer for their busy operations in the Redditch area.
The role is on Days – Monday to Friday
Salary up to £45k.

Duties and key responsibilities;
- Identify quality issues, process weakness and opportunities for permanent defect prevention.
- Lead internal 8D investigations for internal, customer and supplier non-conformances, ensuring non cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Apply 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis and mistake proofing to eliminate defects.
- Work with production and engineering teams to implement process improvements and verify that corrective actions are effective and sustained.
- Investigate, document and drive timely closure of internal, supplier, and customer non-conformance, ensuring the address of root cause.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP requirements and nominated customer specifications relevant to the role.
- Support NADCAP heat treatment compliance, process controls, and audit readiness, including preparation for third party audits.
- Support tensile testing activities, review results, assessment of customer requirements and escalation of any concerns.
Experience and skills required
- Previous working experience of working as a quality engineer within a production/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Practical experience of root cause analysis methods such as 8D, Fishbone & 5 Whys.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to prevention of defects.
- Commitment to continuous improvements and to develop a strong quality culture.
- Computer literate – including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience within a pressings or spring environment is desirable.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 & NADCAP is advantageous.
