About the Role

The Quality Engineer based in Hayes will be responsible for ensuring products meet strict aerospace and manufacturing quality requirements. The role involves hands-on inspection, use of precision measurement tools, and supporting first article and compliance documentation within a busy production environment in Hayes.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspection of machined and manufactured components in Hayes
• Use precision measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
• Operate and interpret results from CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections
• Compile and review AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
• Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities across production in Hayes
• Identify non-conformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with aerospace and customer quality standards in Hayes
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues

About You

The ideal Quality Engineer for this Hayes role will have:

• Strong experience in inspection within a manufacturing or aerospace environment
• Confident use of gauges, verniers, micrometers, and inspection tools
• Understanding of AS9102 and experience producing FAIRs
• Experience using CMM equipment (programming or operation)
• Strong attention to detail and methodical working approach
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Experience in quality assurance or inspection in Hayes or similar environments
