Our client is a leading fabricator of products for the offshore industry. Due to recent growth, they now require a Quality Engineer to work from their busy North East facility.
This is a long term contract position which may develop in to a permanent role.
The Role
Weekly update of KPI on project preparation checklist.
Determining material traceability and setting up its registration.
Preparation of NDT instruction and sample report.
Preparation of supporting instructions for production such as: flame straightening instruction, preheating instruction, clarification of welding plan.
Provided with templates for coating activities: daily log, release note, punch list.
Inspection of weld plan and correct set of WPS''s provided for production.
Be aware of normative, project and contract requirements.
Developing a dimensional measurement plan and measurement methodology.
Preparation and development of ready-to-use route cards for welders and NDT traceability.
Setting up a quality framework in which the quality checks in production for a specific project can be carried out. Developing the project requirements into usable documents and processes. Ensure deadlines for reporting are met. Ensure compliance with Data Protection and the handling and processing of information. Ensure written communications are vetted before circulating to a large audience/third party.
Correct writing of instructions, reports, non-conformity.
Perform and report on in-depth and complete analysis.
The Person
Experience and knowledge of welding processes, corrosion protection and related processes necessary. Maintaining and updating weld repair registers, carrying out welder qualification in line with company guidelines. Welding knowledge: IWT, IWE, CSWIP, IWI, or demonstrable through experience NDT knowledge: VT, MT, PT, UT, PA Corrosion protection knowledge: Nace, Frosio or Icorr level 1 or similar at least Dimensional control knowledge: Total stations, status pro flange survey.
Able to quickly access information via server / ERP / SharePoint / procedures / standards / contract and customer requirements Knowing and being able to explain QA processes.
