Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Fife
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (9:00am - 5:00pm with flexibility)
Salary: -28,000 - -30,000 (negotiable, depending on experience)

Help shape the future of a well-established Scottish food manufacturer.

We''re proud of our heritage, our products, and the people who make them. As we continue to grow, we''re looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to help maintain and continuously improve the high standards our customers expect.

This isn''t a role for someone who wants to spend their day ticking boxes or maintaining the status quo. We''re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping colleagues understand the vital role they play in food safety and quality.

You''ll be a visible presence across our manufacturing site, supporting teams, monitoring standards, investigating issues, and helping to build a culture where quality is everyone''s responsibility. Success in this role will come as much from your ability to build positive relationships and influence behaviours as from your technical knowledge.

No two days are the same. One day you could be carrying out quality audits, investigating customer complaints, or conducting environmental monitoring. The next, you''ll be supporting production teams, coaching colleagues on best practice, or helping prepare the site for customer and third-party audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor product quality and manufacturing processes to ensure standards are consistently achieved.
  • Carry out GMP, hygiene, food safety and compliance audits across the site.
  • Support production, dispatch and logistics teams to improve food safety and quality practices.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring, ATP testing and microbiological sampling programmes.
  • Investigate customer complaints and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Monitor critical control points, temperatures and food safety systems.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, specifications and documentation.
  • Support HACCP reviews, site compliance activities and audit preparation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, standards and ways of working.
  • Promote a positive culture of food safety, quality and continuous improvement throughout the business.

About You

You''ll be a food manufacturing professional who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with people, and making a real difference to product quality and food safety.

You''ll be confident challenging poor practices constructively, asking questions, and supporting colleagues to understand not just what needs to be done, but why it matters.

Most importantly, you''ll take pride in maintaining high standards and be excited by the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of a growing food manufacturing business.

If you''re looking for a role where you can develop your technical skills, influence positive change, and play an important part in delivering quality products to customers every day, we''d love to hear from you.
