Quality Assurance Manager - Food Manufacturing

The QA Manager will lead quality assurance activities at a high-care, low-risk food manufacturing site. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role demands a proactive commitment to upholding rigorous standards and ensuring full compliance across all operational processes. The QA Manager will also supervise and mentor a lean team of two, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Description
- Achieve and sustain BRC Grade A certification.
- Maintain and continuously improve hygiene standards.
- Deliver and uphold high-quality standards in all operations.
- Develop and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards that reflect our brand values.
- Participate actively in product test panel sessions.
- Conduct internal audits as per scheduled timelines.
- Identify and investigate root causes of non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Ensure daily adherence to the quality management system.
- Monitor supplier quality performance, enforce policies, and drive improvements.
- Support training programs focused on health, safety, and food safety at the CPU and warehouse.
- Manage relationships with third-party laboratories and service providers.
- Control and implement the quality management system to comply with all legislative, regulatory, and specific requirements.
- Define and maintain product and process specifications; challenge and optimize factory processes.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) process functions.
- Monitor customer feedback and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction and experience standards are met.
- Act as a key technical advisor on food quality, safety, science, technology, and due diligence.
- Utilize supplier and raw material expertise to identify potential and emerging integrity risks across the supply chain.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices.
Profile
A successful QA Manager should have:
- A strong background in quality assurance, ideally in high care low risk food manufacturing.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and methodologies.
- Experience with BRC audits and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding in Micro testing methodologies.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-departmental teams.
- Experienced in overseeing NPD plant trials through the lens of quality assurance, ensuring compliance and product integrity.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.
