TEXO Recruitment are seeking a Quality Assistant on behalf of our external client based in Sunderland. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business, playing a key role in maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance across all operations. The position is shift-based, working on a rotating pattern of early and late shifts. Key Responsibilities Ensure production output consistently meets all company and customer quality requirements and standards. Provide support, guidance, and training to operational teams as needed (e.g., sensory training, basic food hygiene). Plan, prepare, and conduct audits of the Quality Management and Food Safety (HACCP) systems, ensuring corrective actions are identified, implemented, and verified. Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment and services used for quality purposes. Ensure routine microbiological testing of plant, raw materials, and finished products. Manage quality consumables on site within the agreed annual budget. Support and co-ordinate trials of new products, materials, and processes as required. Drive continuous improvement by promoting quality and food safety standards through cost-effective methods. Represent the site on quality matters in interactions with customers, suppliers, statutory bodies, and during relevant site meetings.
