The closing date is 30 September 2025.This is a full-time, Band 8a, position. The post is a key member of the Collaborative Senior Midwifery team. You will work to support the Collaborative quad and will have shared responsibility for:The delivery of quality services (safety, effectiveness and patient experience)The performance management of the services in line with relevant targets and standardsEnsuring clinical engagement, taking responsibility for clinical governance, safety and risk management within Perinatal ServicesOversight of clinical effectiveness for the Maternity services inclusive of clinical guidelines, SOPs, national and local auditsProviding leadership, support and advice to midwifery managers and staffContribute, as appropriate, to Collaborative strategy development and implementationEnsuring good working relationships with other Networks/Service lines across the CollaborativeThe post holder will be a highly visible, proactive and accessible Midwife lead, acting as a role model and clinical resource within the Collaborative and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of Midwifery care and service delivery, to Midwifery and Nursing staff, patients and the public.Main duties of the job

Qualifications

Registered Midwife with the NMCEducation to Master''s level or equivalent.Training in leadership and management skills in an NHS setting.Trained in service improvement techniques or the willingness to attend training.Knowledge and Experience

Clinical leadership experience within the NHS.Experience of delivering significant change within a clinical environment.Relevant policy, guidance research and legislation in the NHS including safeguarding all ages and Health and Social Care Act.Relevant knowledge and skills in safeguarding children/adultsKnowledge of or experience within a Neonatal clinical care setting.Skills and Aptitudes

Excellent communication/presentation skills - able to engage and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and staff including service users/carers.Ability to critically appraise and interpret complex data/statistics and information to support the improvement of services and clinical practice.Significant experience within field of clinical practice.Resilient, able to challenge as well as deal with challenge.Experience in carrying out investigations using PSIRF methodology.Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.Manage own workload - work with autonomy priorities and also to know when to escalate concerns and ask for help.Politically astute.Ability to influence others.Establish visibility and credibility in equal measures across all localities.Coaching and mentoring skills.Supporting the delivery of educational and training programmes to all levels of staff.Personal Circumstances
