Description
Specific Accountabilities of the Role:
>To carry out a range of tasks to ensure that the Council meets its statutory duties, in accordance with the Homes, Environment & Communities compliance framework, including all sub-contracted service providers - both inhouse and external.
>Ensure there is a clear understanding of the works and standards that Homes, Environment & Communities and suppliers need to carry out and adhere to in order to demonstrate building compliance and manage risks effectively, within their own areas of expertise.
>To work with suppliers to ensure delivery of services that are required for building compliance, and work with Homes, Environment & Communities to secure and manage supplier services. This includes any inspections and audits required to assure Homes, Environment & Communities of compliance.
>To act as part of dedicated health and safety building compliance function for Homes, Environment & Communities that sets clear requirements for building compliance and provides quality assurance.
>To work with colleagues and other parties to ensure all health and safety requirements are
embedded throughout Homes, Environment & Communities and sub-contractor systems and processes.
>Support on the development and delivery of specific elements of a building compliance approach that draws upon a range of information to enable the organisation to make timely, efficient operational decisions around building compliance.
>Follow a Homes, Environment & Communities approach to building compliance and embedding it across the organisation.
Engage with stakeholders, working collaboratively and constructively to understand the needs of the business and provide support accordingly.
>Contribute to periodic reviews or audits to ensure that building compliance procedures are followed; identify building compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
>Carry out internal investigation of compliance issues.
>Provide information and content for management reports regarding compliance operations and progress.
>To ensure within the relevant systems record management is complete, including pre and post inspections and audit activities to assure health and safety of all Council assets, in relation to their own specific areas of expertise.
>Act as a building compliance expert for a specific area of the business, and provide support, advice and information as required.
>Support the delivery of a robust business plan for Building compliance that supports the development and growth of Homes, Environment & Communities, ensuring financial sustainability over time.
>Under the direction of the Compliance Manager, deploying resources in a way that demonstrates value for money, a focus on delivering intended outcomes and compliance with statutory and financial regulations.
>Providing expert opinion to ensure that the Homes, Environment & Communities accesses best practice and delivers quality outcomes for customers.
