Salary: £120 - £160 Pre – AWR (Salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD) to join our supportive and inclusive team. You will play a vital role in improving educational outcomes for children and young people with hearing impairments, working across a range of settings including mainstream schools, specialist provisions, and homes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching to deaf and hearing-impaired students.
• Provide specialist advice and support to school staff, families, and other professionals.
• Contribute to the development of inclusive learning environments.
• Assess pupils’ needs and progress using a range of communication methods, including British Sign Language (BSL), speech, and auditory-verbal techniques.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams to support the holistic development of each child.

What We’re Looking For:

• Mandatory: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and additional mandatory qualification in teaching deaf children (or currently working towards it).
• Experience working with deaf children and young people in educational settings.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to use (or willingness to develop) BSL.
• A flexible, empathetic, and inclusive approach to teaching and learning.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
