Job Title: Qualified SEN Secondary Teacher The Role:A qualified Special Educational Needs (SEN) Secondary Teacher educated students aged 11-19 years with physical, learning, sensory or behavioural difficulties. Adapting secondary curriculum, writing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and foster independence, life skills and social skills within special schools or alternative provisions/ mainstream units.Key Responsibilities:Lesson Planning and Adapting standard curriculum to break down complex concepts into small manageable steps to suit individual learning styles.Plan Management - Write, monitor and review individualised support plans (EHCP/ IEP)Progress tracker / assessments - Track student attainments, mark work and maintain detailed records of academic and personal growth.Behaviour support - Implement positive behaviour management, de-escalation strategies and emotional support networks to foster a safe and supportive classroom environment.Strong collaboration - liaising with parents, guardians, specialised practitioners/ therapists, psychologists and social workers.Organise trips, attend workshops and training.Plan sensory based lessons/ regulation opportunities - exploring sensory, zones of regulation, sensory circuits, PSHE - building relationships/ hygiene/ sleep/ safety.
