Hours: 10-15 hours per week (Part-time)
Location: Various locations across Buckinghamshire
About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and qualified Core Subjects Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 tutoring for students ranging from primary years up to GCSE level. This role involves delivering bespoke educational support to students, particularly those who may require additional help to re-engage with their learning journey.
As a tutor, you will plan and deliver personalised lessons that focus on bridging gaps in knowledge, boosting confidence, and improving attainment. Many students will have special educational needs (SEN) or may have been out of school for some time, so patience, empathy, and experience in SEN are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers or tutors with QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualifications who want to make a real difference with a flexible, rewarding role outside the traditional classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 core subject tutoring tailored to individual student needs (primary to GCSE level)
- Support students with SEN, adapting lessons to meet their learning styles and needs
- Build students'' confidence and motivation to learn
- Track and report on student progress
- Collaborate closely with Prospero Teaching to ensure effective learning outcomes
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, QTLS, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working in UK schools, preferably with SEN students
- Ability to create and deliver personalised lesson plans
- Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge (training can be provided if needed)
- Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo checks)
