Hays Health and Safety are excited to be working with a well-run, close-knit chemical manufacturer based in West Manchester.We are looking for hands-on QSHE Manager role within a high-hazard environment, ideal for someone ready to step up or looking for more autonomy and impact. This suits individuals who feel blocked in their current role or an experienced manager wanting a fresh challenge where they can genuinely influence site performance, not just maintain systems.Role ResponsibilitiesLead and develop QHSE strategy across a COMAH-regulated siteEnsure compliance with COMAH, COSHH, environmental permits and UK legislationAct as key contact for regulators including HSE and Environment AgencyOversee incident investigations and embed learningMaintain and improve ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systemsSupport emergency planning, drills and MAPP developmentManage contractors and ensure safe project deliveryChampion a positive, practical safety culture across siteMeasures of SuccessStrong regulatory compliance with positive audit/inspection outcomesReduction in risk exposure across high-hazard activitiesEvidence that controls are working effectively in practiceEngaged workforce applying safety and environmental standardsRobust, well-embedded management systemsRequirementsExperience as a hands-on QSHE / HSE Manager within a COMAH environment (upper tier preferred, lower tier considered)Track record of working with regulators and managing auditsExperience implementing and maintaining ..... full job details .....
