QHSE Manager

RHA Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a successful and well-established UK manufacturing business in the search for an experienced Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Manager.

Operating within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, our client is recognised for delivering high-quality products and services to major construction and infrastructure customers across the UK. The Role

The QHSE Manager will provide leadership across all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and business objectives.

Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you will drive continual improvement, support best practice, and develop systems that protect employees, customers-and the wider environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Develop and implement the company''s QHSE strategy in line with legislative requirements and business objectives.

• Provide regular performance reports and recommendations to senior management and act as the primary contact for external auditors, regulatory authorities, customers and accreditation bodies.

• Lead organisational initiatives focused on improving quality, safety and environmental performance.

Compliance & Management Systems

• Maintain and continually improve ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and implement necessary updates across the business, whilst managing-internal and external audit programmes, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions.

Quality Management

• Promote a "Right First Time" culture throughout the organisation.

• Drive root cause analysis and resolution of quality issues,-monitor quality performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement and work closely with operational teams to reduce defects, waste and rework.

Health & Safety

• Lead the company''s health and safety programme and risk management framework.

• Conduct and oversee incident investigations, identifying lessons learned and implementing improvements whislt supporting managers in carrying out risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Environmental Management

• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits and licences.

• Lead sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.

• Support waste reduction, energy efficiency and resource management programmes.

Leadership & Culture

• Develop and mentor QHSE team members to achieve high performance standards.

• Partner with operational, engineering and production teams to embed QHSE principles into day-to-day activities.

• Deliver training, coaching and awareness initiatives across the business.

• Foster a culture where quality, safety and environmental responsibility are core business values.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification.

• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

• Proven experience managing audits, investigations and compliance programmes.

• Demonstrable success in driving measurable improvements in quality, safety and environmental performance.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership capabilities.

Desirable

• Chartered IOSH status.

• Experience of leading organisational change programmes.

• Background within engineering, manufacturing or construction-related industries.
