QC Technician
QC Technician
Location: Flitwick, Bedfordshire
Additional site: Telford
Shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm (Flitwick) & 6am-2pm and 10am-6pm (Telford)
At Weber, part of Saint-Gobain Exterior Solutions, we''re looking for a QC Technician to join our team at our Flitwick site.
We specialise in the manufacture of high-performance industrial mortar solutions, including renders and decorative finishes, tile fixing systems, floor screeds and external wall insulation systems. Our products are designed to deliver durability, efficiency and quality across a wide range of construction projects.
As a QC Technician, you''ll play an important role in making sure our products consistently meet the required quality standards. You''ll carry out testing and inspections across raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products, providing accurate quality data to support our Production, Warehouse and Technical teams.
This is a hands-on role where technical accuracy, attention to detail and a collaborative approach are key. You''ll help identify quality issues, support investigations and contribute to improvements that reduce defects, waste and rework.
The role is primarily based at Flitwick, but we''re looking for someone who is flexible and able to provide shift cover at our Telford site when required.
What we''re looking for
- Experience in a quality control, laboratory, manufacturing or production environment, with an interest in developing your technical quality skills.
- A methodical and accurate approach, with excellent attention to detail when carrying out testing and recording results.
- The ability to identify when something doesn''t look right, investigate issues and escalate quality concerns appropriately.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Production, Technical, Warehouse and other teams.
- A flexible approach to working shifts and travelling to Telford when required to provide additional QC support.
What you will be doing
- Carrying out quality testing and inspections on raw materials, products in production and finished products, ensuring they meet the required specifications.
- Recording and analysing test results, identifying any out-of-specification results, trends or abnormalities and escalating these where necessary.
- Supporting investigations into quality issues, customer complaints, supplier issues and production problems, providing accurate testing and technical information.
- Identifying, segregating and recording non-conforming products, helping to prevent quality issues from reaching customers.
- Working with colleagues across the site to identify opportunities to reduce defects, waste and rework, improve testing methods and support continuous improvement.
