We’re looking for a
Python Developer - Technical Consultant (Services Engineer internally)
to join our Consulting team at Xelix. This is a unique hybrid role that combines full-scale back-end engineering expertise with direct customer engagement. The Services Engineer will play a key part in the successful delivery of customer projects and Proof of Value (POVs),
acting as a technical expert who bridges the gap between engineering and consulting.As a Services Engineer, you’ll be the technical bridge between Engineering, Consulting, and our customers - owning key deliverables across pre-sales, onboarding, and post-implementation.This is a fantastic opportunity for a developer or back-end engineer who’s eager to move into a more customer-facing role while retaining a strong hands-on technical component.Note: as this is a technical role within the Services function, you will be reporting into the Engineering team for technical delivery, and Services team for customer delivery.What you''ll be doing
Partnering with consultants and sales engineers to support pre-sales activities, including POVsCoding and delivering custom reports, data exports, transformations, and migrations for enterprise customersAdvising on and implementing integration workflows between Xelix and customer systemsCollaborating with Engineering to triage and resolve technical challenges during implementationActing as the technical expert in customer onboarding and project deliveryDeveloping scripts, tools, and automations to streamline service deliveryHelping shape internal delivery processes and best practices with your technical inputWhat you’ll bring
Minimum 2 years back-end development experience (e.g. Python, Django, SQL/PostgreSQL)Experience working with APIs, data formats (CSV, JSON, XML), and integrationsNice to have: SSO/SAML, AWS, TerraformFamiliarity with SaaS delivery models and cloud environmentsStrong understanding of data pipelines, ETL workflows, and file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP, Private/Public Key Authentication etc.)Some customer-facing or consulting experience, or a
strong interest
in developing this skill setExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersExperience working in fast-paced environments with multiple concurrent projectsConsidering Python Developer vs. Services Engineer?
