Purchasing Officer We are delighted to have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join our client on a permanent basis. This is an ''in person'' role located in Hartlepool. Our client seeks a highly organised and commercially minded Purchasing Officer to join the Commercial team. Hours of work are Monday-Friday 08:00am - 16:30pm. Role Overview This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, chemicals, equipment, and services to support our operations. You will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, maintaining supplier performance, and supporting uninterrupted production while adhering to quality, safety, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities: Ensure cost effective procurement of purchasing requirements across the business. Sourcing of raw materials and consumables including identification and approval of suppliers including carrying out audits. Maintaining purchasing procedures and ensuring these are complied with. Negotiating purchase contracts to ensure pricing, leadtime and terms are optimal. Liasing with Commercial team and Production to ensure materials are scheduled against orders. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to avoid shortages or overstocking. Placing purchase orders as required to support all departments Liaising with suppliers and monitoring supplier performance.
